DAY 3 - OH MY GOD! BTS!

DAY 3

I went to heaven today.

I’m sure that the tranquil surreal feeling that came over me when I saw BTS come out on the stage was equal to ascending into paradise. Coincidentally, Allegiant stadium is located in Paradise, Nevada.

The day was beautiful, the weather was perfect. The initial VIP check-in was extremely quick Then we all moved into the line to get into the VIP area. I was somewhat nervous because of my introverted tendencies but ARMYs are the best people in the world. They made it so easy. I did a few freebie trades before I started to panic a little because I wanted my bag to be empty by the time I reached the check-in. So I basically just handed them out to those who were on next to me throughout the snaked queue. At the security checkpoint, I was faced with a security scan with metal detectors. I informed the girl I had a pacemaker so she pulled me aside and called over a cute security man who told her I would need a pat-down. I raised my hands and smiled at him (the girl laughed) but he said she would have to do it. (which I had known GEEZ). She was tentative and quick. She apologized and I was like, “Nah, now everyone thinks I’m a bad guy so I’ve got cred.”

Next was the VIP merch line. It gave us a chance to look around and see all the people. There were SO many varieties; all races, ages, and genders. It was heartwarming. Younger women wearing short tightfitting dresses. I’m talking short! And tight! Some were wearing poufy frilly girly dresses. Still others in costumes like a Chimmy head, Agust D from Daechwita, and black swans. Older women with purple hair and bucket hats.

The men there were into it as well some in costume as well. I didn’t see too many children. One young girl apparently had been chaperoned by her grandparents. You should have seen his face when BTS came out for soundcheck and the place erupted into chaos. I hope he enjoyed it. I forgot to check on him later.

It was dreamlike to see their bodies and hear their voices in real life. Magical. I wish every ARMY would have the opportunity. During the first soundcheck song, I was nearly catatonic. Then they went into Boy with Luv. I started crying. Last soundcheck song was Dope. That did it for me. I started screaming and jumping and singing at the top of my lungs. OH MY GOD.

OH MY GOD. That was the phrase heard over and over again by the ARMYs streaming out for bathrooms and concessions while waiting for the real show. My phone was low on battery so while we ate our way overpriced hotdog and drink. I pulled out my power pack. But…my cord had a short in it. ARG. It worked out though. Sierra was wearing 7-inch platform boots so she got great video and pics while I enjoyed the concert and waved my new Army bomb.

Just as the concert got underway and the screams had reached a fever pitch and then …nothing. There seemed to be a glitch with one of the main screens. After a few minutes, a disembodied voice said sorry for the delay but there are technical difficulties. AT THAT MOMENT, I FELL IN LOVE with whoever said that. Later, At the ending ments, the interpreter spoke. I think it was him. After a 40 minute delay (Sierra said, the “stuff going wrong curse” must have bled out to BTS. the concert began,

I won’t give a blow-by-blow of the concert.

It was AMAZING. It can’t be described in words. It is felt in the heart, body, and soul.

We left the stadium in a huge swarm of people heading toward the uber area. More stuff went wrong. But, we finally got back to our hotel a little after 1AM. Our feet were basically numb. My body was full of aches but I am ready to do it again. Saturday night. OH MY GOD.
