DAY 1- the adventure begins...NOT

DAY 1

April 6th

I woke up so early that I caught V on weverse before he went to bed. After tossing and turning I went back to sleep but still woke up earlier than I wanted to. I had prepared everything the night before so I was ready to go.

It was raining. A grey, drab, soaking rain. But I had sunshine waiting in Vegas.

Text from Spirit Airlines: Delayed Flight

Only an hour delay, no biggie.

An hour later, another text, another delay, another hour.

Shoes on, getting ready to step out the door…FLIGHT CANCELED!

OMG! What?!

I opened the chat immediately.

“I need to be in Las Vegas by Friday morning,” I told Ronaldo.

After A LOT of holding, the best he could do was a flight that would have us arrive at 3 pm on concert day. VIP check-in ends at 2 something so that didn’t work. I asked if he had anything available from another airport within driving distance. On hold again. I got distracted and closed the chat.

(Facepalm)

I called the airline and, after a lot more holding, we got a flight out of Nashville for 4/7. It will put us in Las Vegas around midnight so we should have a few hours to sleep before going to the stadium on concert day.

Yay! But…

I am currently “between cars”. (We are buying one but it isn’t ready yet.)

So I had to track down a rental car that didn’t break the bank. Not an easy feat considering this is Spring Break week in our metro area.

After that, I had to chat with the organizer of the Behind the Stage: PTD exhibit to see what I could do about our tickets. We will miss our 1 pm time slot because we will be on our way to Nashville. Non-refundable/ no date changes. This is where I wanted to cry. I really wanted to go to that exhibit. We had deluxe tickets to get the BTS postcards. If we buy tickets for another date we won’t get the postcards and the whole thing will wind up costing more than the tickets we bought for the concert on day two.

So with that sadness in my heart, I called the hotel to let them know we would be a day late. Because I used rewards points to book, I had to call corporate customer service. I kid you not, I was on the phone with Dylan, the customer service guy, for almost two hours. In the end, it worked out great. I even got my points returned even though I had missed the cancellation deadline.

By this time, I had a giant headache.

I am hoping for a complete change of luck.

And I need an attitude adjustment
